Brilio.net - Not a few people still rely on a mortar to grind various cooking ingredients. There are even those who think that spices that are crushed using a mortar actually taste better.

Even so, using a mortar is not free from obstacles. With use, the mortar can crack, the surface becomes sandy, and even becomes moldy. If you look closely, you will see white spots which are mold stains on the mortar.

After investigating, the mushrooms in the mortar were caused by the remains of cooking spices not being cleaned optimally. If it's already moldy, it's not enough to wash the mortar with regular dish soap because the white spots will still be clearly visible. This problem was experienced by Instagram user @dideroom.

Once clean, pour in one kitchen ingredient, namely rice. Then grind the rice as usual until it covers the entire top surface of the mortar. The rice here is considered to be able to rub the entire surface of the mortar optimally.
