Brilio.net - Chili is a mainstay cooking ingredient for many Indonesians. Not only used to make chili sauce, chili is also often added to various dishes such as oseng balado, tongseng, rendang, pepes, and others. The types of chili most often used in typical Indonesian cuisine include cayenne pepper , red chili, green chili, and curly chili.
In addition to giving a spicy taste to food, chili also has health benefits. According to webmd.com, the capsaicin content in chili is anti-inflammatory, which is good for heart health, lowers bad cholesterol , and improves the immune system.
However, the spicy sensation of chili is not only felt on the tongue, but can also be felt on the skin of the hands. After cutting, grinding, or eating spicy dishes with your hands, the skin of your hands can feel hot. If it is severe, this spicy sensation often does not go away just by washing your hands with soap and water.
Well, one of the netizens on the YouTube account Alfalegro Tukang Makan shared the method. After washing with water, dry your hands first. Next, take a little salt and oil, then apply it until it is evenly distributed over all parts of the skin of the hands, especially those that feel hot after holding chilies.
"Actually, the recommended salt is fine salt, so the salt will spread more quickly, because this is a bit coarse so I'm afraid it will sting the pores. But we're lazy, so we just use coarse salt," explained the owner of the YouTube account Alfalegro Tukang Makan, quoted by BrilioFood on Tuesday (3/12).

Not only that, uniquely, there is one more step that is said to be effective in helping to remove the spicy taste of chili on your hands. Namely, warming your hands over a fire. The netizen who is familiarly called Alfalegro uses a stove fire, then places his hands over the fire at a distance, just enough until his hands feel warm.
Reported from chilepeppers.com, there has been no specific research related to how to remove the heat of chili on the hands using heat from the fire. However, it seems that this has something to do with chili whose spiciness can be reduced if cooked. After investigating, the capsaicin in chili will be destroyed if heated at high temperatures.

Then, after a few minutes of warming, the hands can be washed directly with water and soap as usual. Alfalegro said that the burning sensation in his hands had disappeared because he did a number of the methods he practiced earlier. Wow, really anti-mainstream, huh?
