Brilio.net - A blender is an electronic device that plays an important role in cooking activities in the kitchen. This tool is able to smooth various types of food ingredients easily and quickly. Using a blender reduces the energy needed to smooth food ingredients compared to manual methods such as grinding or pounding.
Cleaning the blender is a challenge for users, especially after being used to puree chilies. The aroma and spicy taste of chilies tend to stick strongly to the blender container. Using regular dish soap and sponges is not effective enough to remove the remaining aroma and spicy taste.
The remaining aroma and spicy taste that still sticks to the blender can affect the taste of the next food that is pureed. This condition is a serious problem for households that only have one blender unit to puree various types of food ingredients. This problem was also experienced by a YouTube content creator named ABI SYIFA who then shared his experience.
"Maybe we only have one blender at home, which we use to grind spices. Meanwhile, we want to make something using a blender, which does not require a spicy aroma or taste, such as making juice," said YouTube ABI SYIFA.
But apparently the YouTube user has a trick to remove the spicy aroma and taste from the blender. According to BrilioFood on Friday (11/29), he relies on hot water instead of using dish soap. For the measurement, he uses one and a half glasses of hot water.

The hot water measurement is also not used directly. So first, pour one glass of hot water into the blender that has a spicy aroma and taste. Then close and turn on the blender.
"It doesn't need to be long, just 30-50 seconds," he explained further.

In the video, the blended water appears to start changing color to reddish. This is a sign that the layer of chili that is stuck to the blender is starting to lift. Well after that, turn off the blender and throw away the water.

Then take another half cup of hot water and pour it into the blender. Close the blender and turn it on again. The water in the blender this time also looks red, a sign that there is still a layer of chili attached.
After a few seconds, turn off the blender and pour out the water. If the blender smells spicy , you can repeat the process one more time. Or you can also add a few drops of dish soap to the hot water while blending.
Using hot water alone will help lift the layers of chili that are difficult to clean with just soap. Finally, rinse the blender with clean water. That way, the aroma and spicy taste will be completely gone.
