The reason is, it is quite rare for Indonesian celebrities to be appointed as tourism ambassadors in the country that produces K-Pop Idols. Anang's appointment as Jeju Island's public relations ambassador aims to increase Southeast Asia's tourist attraction to Jeju Island.

According to a report by The Korea Herald, the appointment was given directly by the Governor of Jeju, Oh Young-hun at the Jeju Provincial Government Office.
