Brilio.net - The Halilintar family is widely known as one of the richest celebrity families in Indonesia. Their lives often look luxurious, with a routine of traveling without having to look hard.
However, the story of the struggle behind their success is rarely known to many people. Geni Faruk , the mother of this large family, shares a story that reveals the hard struggles and limitations they have experienced.
When Thariq Halilintar was born, his father's business was growing. Geni Faruk revealed that Thariq's birth coincided with a business trip to Jordan.
" At that time, Abi was on a business trip to Jordan, and because Thariq was born there, we also took advantage of that moment to perform the Hajj pilgrimage ," he said as quoted from TikTok @saaihalilintar, Saturday (4/1).

However, the financial success did not last long. After giving birth to Fatim, the family's financial situation began to deteriorate.
" That phase was after Umi gave birth to Fatim. At that time, she was in Malaysia ," he explained.
The pressing financial situation forced them to move house up to 11 times, even staying with other people. The situation was made worse by the difficulty of paying for the children's school fees.
" We moved house 11 times, even staying with other people, and even wanting to pay school fees, at that time we didn't have any. That was the end of it ," he recalled.

Even for basic needs like milk, they often cannot afford it. One moment he remembers was when Fatim, the seventh child, asked for milk but Geni could not afford it.
Difficulty in eating is also part of their struggle. To survive, Geni and her family make use of food thrown away by supermarkets. They even store the food in plastic containers so that it can last for a few days.
" We found out where supermarkets throw away their food. The staff are sometimes kind, wrapping bread that is still suitable in large plastic bags before throwing it in the trash ," he explained.
In difficult conditions, Geni and her husband continue to teach their children not to be ashamed of poverty, but to be ashamed of sinning. This philosophy is the basis that keeps them strong in facing every challenge.
" Abi always said, never be sad or ashamed because you are poor, but be ashamed if we sin ," recalled Geni.

To meet their daily needs, they also sell SIM cards around. Despite the shortages, this family never feels miserable.
" These are all the hardships. It's hard for us to eat, it's hard to pay for rent. It's like life is just so exciting, you know. I don't know what kind of mentality Abi grew up with as a baby. I never felt that it was suffering ," said Saaih.
The Halilintar family's journey from poverty to success is not only inspiring, but also a reminder that hard work, gratitude, and a strong mentality are the keys to rising above limitations. Geni Faruk emphasized that no matter what happens in life, they never give up and always try to get out of their comfort zone.
" So that's all, whatever stage of life we go through, Abi never lets us be lazy or lets us be lazy. So we always have to be persistent so that we always get out of our comfort zone ," he said.
