Brilio.net/en - Just a few days ago, a small segment of Bali was lit up by bright colors. Thats because the Tegalalang village, which is located in the islands Gianyar regency, initiated the traditional Ngerebeg ritual, a custom that involved the participation of 400 to 500 youths. This tradition serves as a protection against the evil spirits, and cleanses the villages across the island. Whats startling about it is that only single members are allowed to join in!

You would have really been amazed to witness the spectacle, because the young lads were really hard core. The first obvious factor was their appearance. The boys had painted their faces, bare bodies and legs in dazzling colors such as blue and pink. Secondly, their level of intensity was superb. They took the streets by storm and were witnessed to be waving branches and leaves enthusiastically.

The Ngerebeg ritual is conducted once every six months. Are you excited to check out this cool ceremony? If you are, mark your calendar and head down to Bali when the next time comes to observe this vibrant ritual. If youre still single, you might as well blend in with the youngsters while youre at it!
