Brilio.net - Acne that appears during adolescence is a common occurrence. The reason is that during adolescence hormonal changes occur. Unstable hormones trigger the sebaceous glands or oil glands in the pores of the skin to produce excessively. If sebum (oil) and dead skin cells accumulate in the pores on the face, this can cause acne to appear.

This pubescent acne can subside over time. But what if the acne that was initially thought to be due to hormonal changes doesn't heal for years?

The above condition was experienced by a woman named Lutfhi Nadia. Through uploads on the TikTok account @lutfhinadia, he shared his story of suffering from acne for nine years. It turns out that what was on Lutfhi's body was not acne, but rosacea.

"Finally, only this year did the doctor diagnose that this was not acne," said Lutfhi, who is a pharmacist, as quoted by briliobeauty.net from TikTok @lutfhinadia.

By uploading a four-minute video, Lutfhi said that his acne had healed and appeared again. Acne that appears not only in one place, but on several points on the face.

"It can appear above the eyelids, even on the eyebrows. Very often it appears in the ears," he said.

Not only that, Lutfhi's type of acne varies every time it appears, starting from the rashes on his forehead. When he entered high school, acne started to appear.

"Later the following year, when I started high school, if I'm not mistaken, the acne started to turn red," he added.

Acne is not only red, but also inflamed, making it feel uncomfortable. This acne gets redder and worse over time. Well, now acne doesn't just appear on the face but spreads to the ears and neck.

Feeling uncomfortable pain, Lutfhi went to a dermatologist. After being examined, Lutfhi was given a number of drugs that could reduce inflammation. For a moment the acne immediately healed, but when taking the medication stopped the acne started to appear again.

"Two weeks later the acne appeared again. So it wasn't completely cured. But later it would appear again and appear," he said.

Apart from redness, Lutfhi's skin health also fluctuates. According to him, the older he gets, the redder his face doesn't subside. In fact, the acne is getting worse, even though I have maintained my diet.

"And it turns out it's not acne. It's called rosacea, so in short, rosacea is a chronic inflammatory condition that often recurs and involves a bloated facial surface and it's not acne," he said.

According to Lutfhi, there is a difference between ordinary acne and rosacea. Acne, there are blackheads and dead skin cells that accumulate in the pores. Well, dirt that can't come out can trigger blackheads and acne. Meanwhile, rosacea has the difference that it has no blackheads.

"Acne is caused by excess oil production, if not rosacea. The characteristics are reddened skin and this is caused by dilated blood vessels," said Lutfhi.

Apart from that, according to dermatologist Lutfhi's blood vessels have abnormalities and can be red. Meanwhile, rosacea cannot be completely cured. However, it can only be controlled and maintain good skin health. Even though he has a history of rosacea, Lutfhi does his best not to stress himself. He still takes care of his face so that the rosacea doesn't recur.

"When I was first diagnosed by a dermatologist, my skin was also checked and after that the condition of my pores was said to be quite good," he added.
