Before getting into the trick, first prepare a pot of water to boil the clear vegetable soup. Heat the water on the stove over medium heat. Then, before the water boils, immediately add spices such as shallots and sliced ginger. The use of these two types of spices is the trick to keeping the clear vegetable soup clear.
