There are many ways to prepare tempeh into delicious dishes. However, fried tempeh still seems to be a mainstay for many people to cook at home. This fried tempeh dish is suitable to be eaten as a side dish to accompany rice or as a snack.

Fried tempeh can be made plain or mixed with flour . If you use flour, the fried tempeh usually becomes crispier after the dish is cooked. However, sometimes there are still people who fail to make crispy fried tempeh for a long time. Instead of being crispy, fried tempeh actually becomes soft quickly after it cools.

So, so that it doesn't get soft quickly, tempeh dough sometimes has to be added with baking soda. Baking soda is known to make flour dough more hollow, so it can be crispy the longer it is fried. However, TikTok account user @chefharitv has another trick without using baking soda.

This man who uses the TikTok account @chefharitv explains that the trick for frying tempeh so that the mixture doesn't get soft quickly is simply adding two kitchen ingredients. On the other hand, according to him, the technique for frying tempeh also needs to be considered so that the results can be crispy for a long time.

So, what's the trick like?

Before starting the trick, first prepare the ground spices with a little water in a bowl or basin. Then add 100 grams of wheat flour. Well, here's the key, apart from wheat flour, the owner of the TikTok account @chefharitv also added 25 grams of rice flour. Rice flour is one of the main kitchen ingredients for practicing this trick of frying tempeh so that the dough doesn't get soggy quickly. It is believed that the addition of this ingredient can produce a layer of dough that is much crispier than just using flour. Next, add enough water and stir the mixture until smooth. Once the mixture is smooth, you can also add chopped spring onions or other spices to make it more fragrant. If so, continue adding the second kitchen ingredient to practice this trick for frying tempeh so it doesn't get mushy quickly, namely 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. Stir again until all ingredients are evenly mixed. "This cooking oil can make fried food crispy and last longer," said the owner of the TikTok account @chefharitv, quoted by BrilioFood on Wednesday (10/7).

When the mixture is ready, immediately dip all the tempeh pieces you want to fry into it. The owner of the TikTok account @chefharitv also explained that the thinner the tempeh pieces are, the crispier the results will automatically be. Turn it over so that the mixture can completely cover the tempeh.

Before starting the frying process, first prepare a little oil in a frying pan and heat it over medium stove heat. When the oil is really hot, then fry the tempeh. Turn the tempeh so that it cooks evenly and wait until it turns brown.

When the tempeh is browned and almost ready to be removed, increase the heat on the stove. TikTok account user @chefharitv said that this technique will also help the fried tempeh to be crispier and the texture last longer, you know. "After it's cooked, turn up the heat, then we lift it for the fried tempeh," said the man known as Chef Hari.
