Brilio.net - As one of the staple foods, rice has become a mandatory meal at every meal for some Indonesian people. In addition to being cooked manually with a stove, cooking rice using a rice cooker is now widely chosen by the public.
Although it is considered more practical, there are times when the condition of the rice cooker becomes less friendly. For example, boiling water when cooking rice comes out through the steam exhaust hole. If left alone, the overflowing rice water risks leaving crust stains, you know.

This is also often experienced by TikTok account user @ceritarumahmungil. Through his upload, he admitted that he was often annoyed because he had to keep cleaning the rice cooker area which was crusty because of rice water.
"Tired of the rice cooker being dirty all the time, because water comes out every time I cook rice," he said in his video upload, quoted by BrilioFood from TikTok @ceritarumahmungil on Friday (9/8).

However, after searching on social media, the owner of the TikTok account @ceritarumahmungil finally found a trick to cook rice so that the water does not overflow into the steam exhaust hole. After investigating, this trick only requires one kitchen ingredient, namely cooking oil .
The trick is, prepare the washed rice, then put it in the rice cooker pan. Pour enough water to cook the rice as usual. Then, apply cooking oil to the edge of the rice cooker pan.
Yup, this cooking oil is known to be able to prevent water from rising to the steam exhaust hole area on the rice cooker when it boils later.

Next, just cook the rice as usual in the rice cooker. Sure enough, when the TikTok account owner @ceritarumahmungil tried this trick, the rice water from the rice cooker did not overflow over the rice cooker's steam exhaust hole at all.
