However, frying fish also has its own challenges. One of the main challenges is the fishy smell that comes from both the cooking oil and the fish itself. This smell is often disturbing, both for you who are cooking and for the people around you.

To avoid the fishy smell when frying fish, many people usually add sliced ginger or lime to the oil. This method has proven to be quite effective, but don't worry if you happen to run out of stock of both ingredients at home.

A YouTube user @dewinify had shown how in one of her video uploads. Reported by BrilioFood from YouTube @dewinify on Tuesday (3/9), she replaced ginger or lime with one food ingredient, namely pandan leaves. The method is, pandan leaves can be washed and then cut into several parts.

On the other hand, clean the fish to be processed. If so, the fish can be marinated with spices according to taste to make it taste even better. Next, pour a lot of oil into the pan. Turn on the stove and heat it.

When it is hot, put the marinated fish into the hot cooking oil. Don't forget to add pandan leaves. The addition of pandan leaves is thought to be able to absorb the fishy smell of fish in the cooking oil.

Over time, the pandan leaves that were originally bright green will turn dark. Don't worry, keep frying the pandan leaves until the fish is perfectly cooked. When it is cooked, immediately remove the fish and pandan leaf pieces. Set aside the pandan leaf pieces and serve the cooked fish.
