Material:
- 500 gr beef
- 3 garlic, crushed
- Tamarind water
- 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
- Salt
- Sugar

Chili paste:
- 3 large red chilies
- 20 cayenne peppers
- 1 tsp shrimp paste
- 1 tbsp petis
- Sugar
- Salt

Yellow serundeng:
- 150 gr grated coconut
- 2 lime leaves
- Sugar
- Salt

Ground spices:
- 5 red onions
- 2 garlic
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander

Red serundeng:
- 150 gr grated coconut
- 2 lime leaves
- Sugar
- Salt

Ground spices:
- 3 large red chilies
- 5 red onions
- 2 garlic
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander

Complementary:
- White rice
- Salted egg
- Cucumber

How to make:
1. Empal meat: Boil the meat until tender, remove from heat and shred the meat. Saute the garlic until fragrant then add the shredded beef and tamarind juice. Season with salt, sugar and soy sauce. Add enough water then cook until the water reduces, check the taste.
2. Chili paste: Fried red chilies and cayenne peppers. Then grind together with all the other ingredients, check the taste. Fry the chili sauce again briefly
3. Yellow or red serundeng: Mix the grated coconut with the ground spices and mix well. Season with salt and sugar. Roast in a frying pan over low heat until cooked and dry.
