A practical way to make fried cassava that is soft and perfectly cracked

Generally, fried cassava is widely sold out there. However, there is nothing wrong if you try to make it yourself at home. In order for the fried cassava to crack and the inside to be soft, usually the cassava must be boiled first. The process does not take long, just boil the cassava until half cooked. After that, drain and fry the cassava in hot oil. Although this method makes the cassava soft, the frying process can take longer.

For those of you who want a more practical way, you can follow the recipe and tutorial from TikTok user @zafaranierohman. In one of the videos he uploaded, he showed that cassava does not need to be boiled before frying. However, he has a unique method. Curious about his method?

As reported by BrilioFood from TikTok @zafaranierohman on Tuesday (10/9), the first step is to peel and wash the cassava that will be used. Once clean, cut the cassava into small pieces and drain.

Next, prepare a fine seasoning consisting of 3 cloves of garlic and 1-2 teaspoons of salt. Grind the two ingredients until mixed and smooth. After that, put the fine seasoning into a container containing 1 1/2 liters of water, then stir until evenly distributed. Set the seasoning aside.

The next step is to place the cassava pieces into a steamer. Once all the pieces are neatly arranged, cover the pan and steam the cassava until cooked.

Once the cassava is cooked, remove the cassava pieces and put them in the prepared marinade. Let it sit for a while until the cassava starts to crack on its own.

Once the cassava is perfectly cracked, remove and drain one by one. Without adding any more seasoning, immediately put the cassava into the heated cooking oil.

When frying, use medium heat and don't forget to flip the cassava so that it cooks evenly. When the color is brown, remove and drain the fried cassava.

Because it has been steamed and soaked in spiced water, the resulting fried cassava looks perfectly cracked. Even so, when cut, the texture of the inside remains soft. Appetizing, right?
