Brilio.net - A video showing a meatball seller repairing a road in Dusun Segelan Sidomulyo, Malang Regency, recently attracted attention on TikTok. In the recording, a significant change is seen from a difficult-to-pass dirt road to a neat and sturdy concrete road. Interestingly, the entire cost of this construction came from the personal funds of a meatball seller named Ferry, without any assistance from village or government funds.

Ferry, who currently lives in Batam, started the project in 2017. Sunardi, as the development coordinator, explained that Ferry invited village officials to discuss infrastructure improvements. From the discussion, seven working groups were formed, each consisting of 17 to 18 people to design the road construction.

The main focus of this project is in the residential area of Dusun Segelan Sidomulyo. After the fifth phase is completed, there are still plans for further concrete rebate casting and school building construction, all of which are still funded by Ferry.

According to Sunardi, the budget that has been spent for casting concrete rebates and drainage has reached around Rp1.7 billion. If combined with other public facilities that have been built, the total cost is almost Rp10 billion.

This initiative received a positive response from local residents. In addition to providing moral support, the community also contributed by providing food for those involved in the mutual cooperation work. Although the project is still ongoing, residents have started to maintain the completed facilities by planting plants on the side of the road and cleaning regularly.

Appreciation from residents.

After all the construction is completed, Sunardi stated that they will hold an inauguration event to appreciate Ferry and his family. The residents of Dusun Segelan Sidomulyo will express their deep gratitude for all the assistance that has been given.

Sunardi also hopes that the government will pay more attention to the lower classes in terms of infrastructure, education, and economy. He hopes that lower classes like them can feel the benefits of government programs.

On social media, many netizens have given their support and prayers for the smooth running of this project. Some TikTok users even reminded that this project should not be claimed as the work of the government. Some suggested writing on the entrance gate that this road was built with community self-help funds, not from the government.

With the spirit of mutual cooperation and initiative from Ferry, this project is a real example of how one individual can bring big changes to his community. May this be an inspiration for all of us to contribute to the surrounding environment.

Tricks to make chewy meatballs without formalin.

1. Use fresh meat.

- Choose fresh beef, chicken, or fish with high protein content.
- The fresher the meat, the better the texture of the resulting meatballs.

2. Add ice cubes when grinding meat.

- Ice cubes help keep the temperature of the dough cold so that the protein does not break down.
- In addition, ice cubes also help increase the elasticity of meatballs naturally.

3. Use enough tapioca flour.

- Tapioca flour functions as a binder and gives the meatballs a chewy texture.
- Use about 1015% of the total weight of the meat so that the meatballs still have a meaty taste.

4. Stir or grind until smooth.

- Mix the dough using a food processor or knead by hand until completely smooth.
- The stirring process will allow the protein in the meat to form perfectly, resulting in chewy meatballs.

5. Use egg whites.

- Egg white functions as a natural binder that makes meatballs more elastic and less likely to fall apart.
- Add 1 egg white for every 500 grams of meat.

6. Boil in water that is not too boiling.

- Boil the water first, then reduce the heat until there are only small bubbles.
- Add the meatballs one by one and cook until they float, then remove and soak in ice water to make the texture chewier.

7. Use baking powder or baking soda (optional).

- If you want a chewier result, add a little baking powder or baking soda (about teaspoon for 1 kg of meat).
- However, make sure not to overdo it so as not to ruin the taste of the meatballs.
