Brilio.net - As Indonesia's independence day approaches, it has become a common sight to see flags flying throughout cities and villages. This indicates that the spirit of nationalism of the Indonesian people is still intact. Unfortunately, not all Indonesians understand the rules of flags flown in front of their homes.
Feeling furious about it, a man with the TikTok account @dipakomala protested one of the flags on the street. He regretted that there were still many flags flying with the wrong size.

"Soon we will commemorate the 79th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia. It is nice to see flags flying everywhere, but what I really regret is that quite a few flags are the wrong size," said a man named Dipa, quoted by brilio.net , Sunday (11/8).
Dipa also gave an example of a flag next to it that was the wrong size. Dipa emphasized that the flag was a pennant and not the Indonesian flag according to the law.

"The example in front of me is no longer 2:3 but 1:2, this is not the Indonesian flag. This is a kind of pennant," he continued.
Dipa explained that the correct size of the Red and White flag is 2:3. This is known through the caption of his video upload.

Dipa is concerned that many people are still unaware of the standards that have been set. This is an important highlight, especially ahead of the Independence Day celebration, where the Red and White flag is the main symbol.
"I am concerned because many people do not really know which is our national flag and which is a pennant, as long as the Red and White is raised it is considered a flag, my goodness," added Dipa.
Dipa also invited netizens and all Indonesian people to improve themselves and love Indonesia more.
"Let us improve ourselves, remind each other, and love the Republic of Indonesia even more," he concluded.
Please note, the correct size of the Indonesian flag has been regulated in Law No. 24 of 2009 concerning the Flag and National Anthem which states "The size of the red and white flag for use in public areas: 120 cm x 180 cm. The size of the red and white flag for use indoors: 100 cm x 150 cm".
Various netizen reactions emerged, some said that the most important thing is love for the country , not the flag issue. There were also those who corrected the meaning of the video upload.
