Brilio.net - A 9-year-old boy drove a car recklessly in the Kemang area, South Jakarta. The video of this moment went viral on social media and attracted a lot of netizens' attention. As reported by brilio.net from a video uploaded by the Instagram account @infotibanjaran.id, Saturday (10/8), road users were seen being shocked by the maneuvering behavior of the car which was apparently driven by the 9-year-old boy.
Chronology of eventsThis incident began when the police received a report from residents regarding a small child driving a car that hit a red light pole near McDonald's Kemang.
Before stopping there, the car had hit two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles.
Traffic police from South Jakarta Police immediately arrived at the location and evacuated the child. The car was then secured by the South Jakarta Police traffic accident officer, Aipda Sugeng.
The 9-year-old boy was driving a Toyota Rush. Unfortunately, the boy could not control the car and hit several motorcyclists and vehicles in the Kemang traffic light area, Mampang.
The boy's actions were inspired by the gameSouth Jakarta Metro Police Public Relations Chief AKP Nurma Dewi said the reason the 9-year-old boy was driving the car was because the child with the initials MP often played games on the internet. He was obsessed and suddenly took the car keys and drove the car onto the highway. The child with the initials MP (9) was known to be driving his neighbor's car.
"So he is obsessed with the internet. He usually learns on the internet, because his child has never held or driven a car. So games from the internet, games driving cars. He is inspired by games, then what he sees on the internet, he does," said Nurma in his statement to reporters.
The police have also asked for information from MP and his parents. Based on that information, Nurma said, it is certain that MP's actions were not ordered by his parents.
"For now, we have asked the child and both of his parents, he was not ordered. But he entered the car, then immediately took the vehicle. That is what we definitely asked the child and his parents," said Nurma.
The police have also facilitated a peace process between MP's parents and the car owner and several victims on the street who were harmed by the boy's actions.
"A peace agreement is in the process between the vehicle owner and both parents. It is in the process, of course the police will facilitate all parties," he added.
