Brilio.net/en - At some point in our lives, we have all been required to complete a mandatory internship, either for a company or for school. The internships usually end up with one of either two scenarios: sitting at an office all day long, being bored by repetitive tasks, or on the opposite spectrum, killing yourself at work to satisfy the hierarchy but without even being paid for it.
World of Beer, a Florida-based chain of craft beer taverns, follows up the trend of a new kind of internship: interesting, fun and actually giving you responsibilities!
The company published an internship offer that is probably going to receive a lot of applicants! The job: travel the world, drink beer and report on social media as explained on the internships description:
"We're recruiting three Drink it Interns to hit the road this summer and search out the best craft beer and food the world has to offer. Well send you down the street and around the world to capture the best beer stories and document them by blogging, capturing video, taking photos, Facebooking, Tweeting, sharing Vines, Periscoping, and anything else you think would be awesome to help tell the tale."
More information available on the video presentation:
The internship will last for four months and is paid 12.000 American dollars (and its not considered a full time job!). The amount is supposed to cover all the travel and accommodation expenses; the beer will be for free though!
Youre probably wondering about the actual purpose of hiring someone to be a beer reporter. Obviously, the main reasons is to create a buzz around the company, improving its presence on social media, leading to companys growth.
It is unfortunately too late to apply this year (deadline for applications was March 26th) but if the concept works well, World of Beer will most likely need more interns next year!
