Brilio.net/en - The Government of North Korea recently developed a 30 to 40 per cent alcohol that anyone can drink without fearing a bad hangover on the next day. This information is coming from the national press and is, according to most professionals, scientifically impossible.

Sorry for those who were already looking for stores selling the Koryo liquor as it is called, but it seems that lately all the good news coming from North Korea were hardly shown to be accurate. Mention may be made in approximately any field: sport, medicine, agriculture, etc. Last year, the official agency KCNA reported that some North-Korean scientists have had found the remedy against HIV, among other tremendous discoveries.

A hangover-free alcohol invented in North Korea

In the Koryo liquors case, the problem lies in the fact that by definition, the excess of any kind of beverage containing alcohol provokes a dehydration. The origin of the hangover lies in the dehydration caused by the inhibition of the antidiuretic hormone, that is to say the alcohol. According to the English speaking magazine The Pyongyang Times, the secret of the hangover-free effect of Koryo Liquor is in the ingredients: the sugar is replaced by burnt gluten, which is supposed to make the liquor tastes less bitter and remove any possible hangover-effects. The drink is also mainly composed of a perfect blend of high quality ginseng.

Even though the hangover-free effect seemed to be most likely a nonsense, the Koryo Liquor may still have some qualities. His taste has been approved and described at sweet and salty at the same time, which could be interesting for many cocktails. On top of that, the liquor has won many contests, among which the national alcohol contest of North Korea in 2015. According to the participants of those contests, the Koryo Liquor has got a suave texture and taste that cannot be found in any other alcohol. Giving the fact that North Koreas neighbor (South Korea) is the first alcohol-consumer country in Asia, Koryo Liquor might have a bright future.
