Brilio.net - David Ozora Latumahina has finally reappeared in public after undergoing intensive care for a long time. The brutal abuse he experienced made him struggle through a long recovery period.
As is known, David was a victim of abuse by Mario Dandy in February 2023. He was brutally abused by Mario Dandy, which then made him go into a coma for several months.
Doctors diagnosed him with diffuse axonal injury stage 2, a condition that causes him to experience intellectual and social-emotional developmental delays. His condition was then predicted to be equivalent to that of an eight-year-old, leaving his family struggling to recover.
"Social emotional developmental delay. Intellectual delay," said his father, Jonathan Latumahina, via his personal X account.

However, David's current condition is the opposite of what many people predicted. After undergoing a long recovery period, he now looks much healthier and stronger.
In the father's latest upload on Instagram @tidvrberjalan, Jonathan shared a moment of togetherness with his son. He accompanied David to attend a Koran reading activity at a place in Leteh.
"Taking David to his ordered Quran reading in Leteh, hopefully he will be consistent," wrote Jonathan in the upload.
David was seen wearing a striped shirt, combined with a sarong and a peci which further emphasized his appearance as a santri. His increasingly positive changes have also become the focus of many people.

It turns out that three years before the tragic incident that befell him, David had decided to convert to Islam. He made the decision on June 16, 2019 during the month of Ramadan in Muntilan, Magelang, Central Java.
In a video circulating on Twitter, David is seen reciting the two sentences of the shahada in front of a cleric. The moment was witnessed by a number of congregants in a religious study group.
The decision was taken on his own accord without any coercion from anyone. In doing so, he followed in the footsteps of his father, Jonathan Latumahina, who had earlier converted to Islam.

His desire to deepen his knowledge of Islam is what led David to become a santri. He studied at the Assalam English Islamic Boarding School, Megamendung, Bogor.
The Islamic boarding school became the place where he studied for two years since mid-2017. The experience of studying at the Islamic boarding school provided a strong foundation for his spiritual journey until now.
