Brilio.net - A two year old toddler experienced the tragic fate . A toddler boy with the initials YK was killed by a Toyota Fortuner car driven by his neighbor, AC, 33. He was run over by a car with the registration number N 1770 HZ in the complex where he lived in Perum Quality Riverside, Gamping Village, Krian District, Sidoarjo on Saturday, May 25 2024 afternoon.

Quoting from the X account @folkshittmedia, Monday (27/5), the incident recorded on CCTV showed the toddler initially sitting and playing on a park bench facing north. Next, he got up from his place and ran into the middle of the road, towards a corner.

Suddenly a Fortuner car, known to be driven by AC, passed at quite high speed. Collisions are inevitable. The toddler was hit by the right bumper and bounced to the left.

When it bounced to the left, the car did not stop and resulted in the victim's body being crushed by the left front and rear tires. It is suspected that the driver was not aware of the incident due to a blind spot. Residents who saw the incident immediately ran after the Fortuner.

After being run over, the victim was found to be unconscious. However, the victim's mother and AC still took him to the hospital.

Upon arrival at the hospital, the victim was declared dead. Next, the victim's body was evacuated to Anwar Medika Hospital for a post-mortem.

This is not the first time AC has been driven at high speed in housing. In fact, Hanif, head of the local RT, had even warned him. Hanif gave a warning to the Fortuner driver based on reports from housing residents.

"Actually, three months ago we gave the driver of the Toyota Fortuner a verbal and written warning," said Hanif.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Sidoarjo Police Traffic Unit, AKP Ony Purnomo, is currently handling the incident. He has also summoned the car driver and witnesses at the location for questioning.

"We have handled it, meanwhile the driver has been arrested whether there was an element of driver negligence or not and more importantly whether there was an element of negligence in the supervision of the parents towards their toddler," said Ony when interviewed by media crew.
