Brilio.net/en - Japan is again ahead when it comes to sophisticated designs. Made for art reference, these mini human figures are the newest creation as reference for artists to draw humans, that can actually bend over just like real people. These figures are as a development of S.H. Figuarts Body-kun for the male figure and Body-chan for the female one that launched last year by Japanese action figures producer Bandai, which still have the joints visible and not as detail.

This year, Phicen Limited, a Japanese doll manufacturer that specializes in producing 1:6 scale figures, launched the seamless bendable figures in the scale of 1:6 that can fully pose copying human movements. They have at least 26 bendable articulation points with ball-joint system for more flexibility and movement. The figures come in realistic look with its highly similar muscles and skin texture to create different shadow angles for anime and manga artists to take reference from.
The female figure has a big bust and a lean posture, complete with private part. The male figure is perfectly muscled with a six-pack but excluding the private part, suitable to draw shonen manga characters. Both of the figures have durable stainless steel skeleton inside to withstand playability.
The company does not suggest the figures are for sexual stimulation but more for character designers, cosplay lovers, painters and fine art artists, photographers, anatomy learners or action figure collectors. This is why the company made it anatomically correctso that there is a 90% accuracy to human movement to allow the figures to imitate dynamic poses and postures for artistic needs.

The figures are sold starting from 10,000 Yen or USD 88, which is definitely much cheaper than hiring a real-life model for drawing reference, plus that the figures will be available for a long time and more different poses. Apart from the model-figures, Phicen also produces dolls in many different themes for action figure collectors, taken from movie, manga or anime characters.
One member of the Japanese art community gave their testimonial on buying the product: I went out and bought the Phicen doll everyones been talking about to use as a reference. Although it cant be posed in every single way possible, its a lot more flexible than I thought it would be.
