Brilio.net - In the last few weeks you have definitely felt cold, especially from night to morning. In fact, Indonesia is entering the dry season, which usually has hot temperatures. This phenomenon of cold temperatures in the dry season is known as bedding.

Generally occurs in mountainous areas. However, this does not rule out the possibility that it can also be experienced in urban areas. Several areas experiencing the bedding phenomenon include Bandung, Yogyakarta and East Java. It is not uncommon to experience this in parts of Bali, East Nusa Tenggara and West Nusa Tenggara.

Reporting from the BMKG South Sumatra page, this phenomenon usually occurs from the end of July to September. During this period, people will feel that the air from night to morning is cooler.

So why does this bedding phenomenon occur in Indonesia? Come on, take a look at the review below! Adapted by brilio.net from various sources on Monday (15/7)

Quoting from the BMKG South Sumatra Climatology Station page, climatologically, the bedding phenomenon is a normal thing that occurs in several regions in Indonesia. This phenomenon can occur due to physical processes related to atmospheric conditions during the dry season. Namely, there is a release of heat from the earth's surface into the atmosphere.

In the dry season it generally rarely rains because cloud cover decreases, resulting in heat occurring on the earth's surface due to faster and more solar radiation which is then released back into the atmosphere in the form of long wave return radiation.

As a result, rainfall also decreases, causing the air to become humid. This means that there is less water vapor near the earth's surface. At the same time, there were clear skies. As a result, the process of releasing heat into the wider atmosphere is easier. This phenomenon causes surface air to feel colder, especially at night until morning. Then during the day the air feels much hotter.

This can happen because there are no clouds or a lack of water vapor during the dry season, causing more direct solar radiation to reach the earth's surface.

1. Monsoon winds.

One of the factors causing the bedding phenomenon is the movement of monsoon winds from Australia to Indonesia, which is triggered by air pressure due to the position of the sun relative to the earth.

2. Position and heat of the sun.

Bedding often occurs in the dry season, namely around July to September. During this period, the sky tends to be clear without clouds, which allows heat radiation from the earth's surface to escape more quickly at night, causing a significant decrease in temperature.

In addition, during the dry season, the sun's position is further north, so that Indonesia receives less solar radiation at night. This causes faster cooling of the earth's surface.

3. Air humidity.

During the dry season, the air humidity is naturally lower. As a result, heat from the earth's surface is more easily released into the atmosphere. Plus the wind brings cold air.

4. Geographical location.

In general, this bedding phenomenon generally occurs in areas of Indonesia near the equator to the northern part. Moreover, mountainous or highland areas are more likely to experience a more drastic drop in temperature than other land areas.

Tips for maintaining health when the bedding phenomenon occurs.

1. Fulfill nutritional needs.

In the midst of seasonal changes, it is important to maintain body health. The way to do this is by maintaining daily nutritional needs. The goal is to keep the body's immune system maintained and strong in defeating viruses and bacteria that cause disease.

Don't forget to consume food with balanced nutrition starting from vitamins, minerals, zinc and various other good ingredients that help increase the body's endurance.

2. Drink water regularly.

In cold or hot temperatures, a person is susceptible to dehydration. Drink lots of water to keep your body hydrated. Water helps neutralize the body from toxins while supporting the function of the immune system.

3. Wear warm clothes.

During the bedding phenomenon, the air feels colder and more piercing. To warm your body, you can wear warm clothes or wear layers, especially when outside the house. Warm clothing helps retain body heat and prevents hypothermia.

4. Actively move.

Cold air is not an excuse to be lazy. Move appropriately and do light exercise regularly to keep your body warm. Apart from that, exercise also helps increase the body's metabolism, thereby producing heat which keeps the temperature stable.

5. Maintain skin moisture.

Not only hot temperatures, cold air also often makes the skin drier and cracked. Therefore, it is important to use a moisturizer because it can maintain skin moisture and prevent irritation.
