Persib Bandung has officially terminated the contract of Carlton Cole just over three months after joining the club.

"For Cole, it's quite clear. Whatever happens, we let him go. For us, it's too risky to just keep him," said Persib Manager Umuh Muchtar at the Graha Persib, Bandung, on Monday.

According to Umuh, Cole had been pushing himself too much because it was indicated thatthe ex-Chelsea player hasbeen suffering an injury all this time. "Just look at Cole's right leg, his movement is less than perfect," said Umuh.

Carlton Cole officially signed one-year contract with Persib Bandung last March. The former England National Football Team striker was expected to boost the team's performance following the long absence of Sergio van Dijk due to injury.

Cole's contribution had been considered unsatisfactory where in his five appearances with the club, the 33-year-old footballer has neither scored nor assisted other player.
