President Joko Widodo officially inaugurated Bahlil Lahadalia as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) replacing Arifin Tasrif. Previously, he was also included in Jokowi's cabinet as Minister of Investment and Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).

Bahlil's journey to reach the ministerial seat can be said to be smooth. The reason is, in the second period of Jokowi's government, he was able to occupy two different ministerial seats. Before entering the government, the man born on August 7, 1976 was a businessman . He had been the General Chairperson of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (BPP HIPMI) for the 20152019 period.

In the 2019 presidential election, Bahlil supported Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin who won and led Jokowi to be re-elected. With this support, Bahlil was appointed as Head of BKPM on October 23, 2019. Then, on April 28, 2021, he was inaugurated as Indonesia's first Minister of Investment.

Previously, the graduate of the College of Economics, Port Numbay Papua, had a house in Jayapura. It is known that the first house he bought was in the wajib Senyum complex, Jayapura.

Some time ago, Bahlil took the time to visit his old house. He admitted that the house was full of memories of struggle . Currently, his house looks abandoned and unkempt.
