Plastic basins are the main choice as food containers in many homes because of their affordable price and lightweight material. In addition, plastic basins are available in various sizes and colors, making them a versatile item for various needs, from storing food to washing vegetables. The sturdy material also makes the basin durable, even though it is often used for everyday purposes.
However, even though it looks strong, plastic basins are actually vulnerable to damage. One of the main drawbacks is that they are easily broken or cracked if dropped from a certain height. The brittle texture of plastic, especially after frequent exposure to hot water or cleaning chemicals, can cause the basin to crack easily, which of course reduces its durability and function.
If it is cracked and broken, the basin becomes difficult to use. Not without reason, the cracks that arise can cause the water stored in the basin to seep and leak. Therefore, many people think that this broken basin is not suitable for use and is simply thrown away. In fact, instead of throwing it away, you can fix this broken basin in an easy way.
An Instagram user @siti_setyowati_ once shared a trick to patch a broken basin so that it doesn't leak anymore. Through one of the videos she uploaded, she admitted to only using one drink ingredient, namely ground coffee. Well, this ground coffee will make the cracks in the basin come back together.
Now, if it is dry and completely solid, the basin can be reused as usual. In the video, Instagram user @siti_setyowati_ shows a basin that has been filled with water. Who would have thought, there were no drops of water coming out of the previously broken basin area. This indicates that the mixture of coffee and glue can actually produce a solid layer that covers the surface of a leaking basin. A mixture of coffee and glue is an effective emergency solution to cover leaks in plastic basins. Ground coffee has a rough and fibrous texture, which helps fill small gaps or cracks in the surface of the basin. When mixed with glue, ground coffee will unite and form a solid and waterproof layer, so it is strong enough to withstand the flow of liquid contained in the basin.
