Bengawan Solo, the longest river in Java is approximately 527 km in length. The great river flows from the Mt. Sewu, Wonogiri, Ponorogo and empties into Gresik, passing through Ngawi, Bojonegoro, Tuban and Lamongan.
Bengawan Solo is a blessing to people who live nearby, providing them livelihoods as they rely on the river on daily basis for bathing, washing, fishing and even doing the harmful sand exploitation there.
Retrieved from the photographer Slamet Agus Sudarmojo's personal Facebook account (@Aguk Sudarmojo), here are some photos capturing the moments showing local residents' daily activities, living side by side with the river.
