The 25-year-old went to harvest oil palms but found a giant snake instead.

Akbar Salubiro, 25, a farmer from Salubiro, Central Mamuju of West Sulawesi Province wasfound dead inside a seven-meter long python on Monday.

Akbar left home on Sunday morning to harvest palm fruits in his plantations, but did not return until Monday evening.

Friends and relatives then gathered to search for him only to discover agiant snake slithering in Akbar's plantation. When they approached the snake, they saw Akbar's boots bulging from the snake's body.

Local residents cut the snake open and found Akbars dead body. He was swallowed whole.

The palm fruits were scattered, maybe he was attacked from behind, said local resident, Satriawan, to Tribunnews on Tuesday.Akbar's death was caused by suffocation. The footage below shows the moment villagers cut open the belly of the snake to remove Akbar's body (warning: graphic content).



Pythonidae or phyton is one of the largest snakes in the world. The snakes feed themselves by constricting their prey to death.

Akbar's body has been takenby the locals to his family for burial.
