Former Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN)AmienRaisurged the House of Representatives (DPR) to take a 'constitutional step' if the investigation by the KPK inquiry special committee found misconducts done by the anti-corruption agency.

AmienRaisasked DPR to work seriously to improve the agency.

"I've been here (DPR) for five years, so I know the 'game'. Do not let the people bedisappointed,"saidAmienat Parliament Complex,Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday.

"So, who's lying now, DPR or KPK. If it is KPK, then a constitutional step will be taken [as] a democratic way,"he said.

When asked whether the constitutional step he meant was a revision of Law no. 30/2002 on the Corruption EradicationCommission, he answered,"This KPK was made by DPR, so (it needs) to be returned to DPR. I don't know the detail,"saidAmienRais.

AmienRais's arrival to DPR coincided with the formation of a special committee to carry out the inquiry towards KPK, as he did not deny that his visit was to discuss the committee.

Previously,AmienRaiswas mentioned by the KPK prosecutor to have received money from former Health MinisterSitiFadilahSupariwho allegedly committed corruption in a procurement of medicalequipment.

PAN elites denied the involvement of the party founder and considered there wasapoliticalmaneuverregarding the mention AminRais's name in the minister's case hearing.

On June 5, KPK receivedAmienRais's representatives at the KPK building, Jakarta.

KPK SpokespersonFebriDiansyahexplained that the KPK, as a law enforcement agency, treats people equally under the law. According to him, what was conveyed by KPK in the trial was a legal fact, so they suggested not to associate it to politics.
