Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama finally spoke out against Deputy Governor-elect Sandiaga Unos plan to launch Kartu Jakarta Jomblo (Jakarta Single Card) when he takes Ahoks seat in October.
Sandis plan which were still not sure if it is a serious one or just a practical joke will give his OKE-OCE entrepreneurship center a twist: more trainings and free down payment housing program for singletons out there so theyll be more confident to meet their prospective spouse.
He also proposes to add a corner where single men and women can meet at the existing community open space areas (RPTRA). Furthermore, Sandi claimed that the special program will only valid for six months so that they wouldnt be too comfortable with their status.
If theres ever be a digital platform that can sum up the solutions for the single people, it shouldnt be more than six months. He/she should get out of that ecosystem by then. One cannot be feel too comfortable being single as one day he/she should take a spouse eventually, Sandi said on Tuesday.
Outgoing Governor Ahok doesnt seem to take this Sandis concern nor his plan seriously.
When asked for comments, Ahok just laughed and said that Jakarta singles are already happy.
I guess Jakartans are happier when theyre single hahaha, he said yesterday. Lets just be happy. Whether youre single or not, it doesnt matter as long as youre happy.
Meanwhile, outgoing Deputy Governor Djarot Saiful threw some shades to his successor.
Duh, let him learn what those open spaces functions are all over again, he said. If he still thinks that RPTRA doesnt have enough activities, just go there, coordinate with the officers there (to make more beneficial programs).
