West Jakarta city government is set to revamp a total of 7,000 kilometer sidewalk scattered in several points.
"The total [length] of sidewalks to be repaired is 7,000 kilometers," said Riswan Efendi, Head of West Jakarta Bina Marga.
He further explained that the face-lift project in West Jakarta has been commenced in2016 and one of the sidewalks that had undergone a renovation includes the 800 meter-long pavement in Daan Mogot, Cengkareng, West Jakarta that spent Rp 5 billion.
"The sidewalk in Jalan Daan Mogot, Cengkareng, is a model because it's designed with parks, bicycle track, sidewalk's tiles for disabled, benches and duct arrangement," he said.
Riswan continued that this year's improvement isadjusted to the available space condition at the site.
"If there's no more space, there's no other way than concreting the duct to be used as a pavement," he said.
