We've seen some fierce battles in Game of Thrones before but this one was obviously annihilated the rest.

Brilio.net - Season 6 of “Game of Thrones” blessed us with a lot of remarkable scenes, but it was "Battle of the Bastards", the ninth episode of the series that blew all others out of the water, and was even heralded as the best episode of the series. It was one of the best battle sequences seen on TV or on the big screen, if only for its prominent brutality and anarchic beauty.

Involving 600 crew members, 500 extras and 70 horses, as well as 25 shooting days, the stunning battle was an extreme blend of practical efforts or with and magnificent visual effects.

Of course, the credit also went to the actors and actresses since it was them who once again breathed life into the scene with their spectacular characters and acting. Jon Snow was inches from dying, again.

Here's Iloura, an Australian animation and visual effect studio showing off all the CGI wizardry that went into the battle which is just simply spectacular. Yes, “Game of Thrones” Battle of the Bastards showed how sophisticated visual effect have become over the last years, so much that it is becoming hard to tell whether Wun Wun the giant and the thousand cavalry were actually not really in the field.
