Brilio.net - Sweat stains in the armpits are often an annoying problem, especially because they leave yellow marks on clothes that are difficult to remove. Although it looks trivial, these stains can ruin the appearance of your favorite clothes and make them look dull, even after being washed many times. Not infrequently, these yellow stains also trigger a lack of confidence when wearing bright colored clothes.

These yellow marks are actually not caused by sweat alone, but rather by a reaction between compounds in deodorant, such as aluminum, with salts and proteins in sweat. This combination produces a stain that is more stubborn than a regular sweat stain. The longer the stain is left, the harder it is to remove, as it can penetrate deeper into the fabric fibers.

However, there are various effective ways to deal with these stains without having to damage the fabric. Simple ingredients found in the kitchen can even be used to remove yellow stains on the armpits of clothes. An Instagram user @tinissn_ once revealed it further through one of the videos uploaded.

As reported by BrilioFood on Sunday (5/1), the kitchen ingredients in question are baking soda and vinegar. Well, these two ingredients will later be mixed with detergent to remove stubborn yellow stains on the armpits of clothes. Therefore, clothes can be bright and white again without any stains.

Furthermore, the way to apply it is quite easy. You only need to sprinkle detergent and baking soda directly on the armpit of the shirt. After that, rinse with enough vinegar. If so, let it sit for a few minutes until the stain is lifted.

After letting it sit for a few minutes, scrub the underarm area of the shirt with a brush. Do this process until the stain is completely removed. Then rinse the shirt using running water until it is clean and there are no traces of cleaner left.

Immediately after rinsing, the clothes became white and bright again. There were even no stains left. This indicates that the mixture of detergent with baking soda and vinegar is very effective in removing stubborn stains on clothes without damaging the color or fibers of the fabric.

Basically, a mixture of detergent, baking soda, and vinegar is effective in removing yellow stains on the armpits of clothes because the combination of these three ingredients works synergistically to dissolve, lift, and remove stubborn stains. Detergent contains surfactants that help break down oil, grease, and dirt in fabric fibers. This is the first step to loosening yellow stains caused by a combination of sweat, deodorant, and body salts.

On the other hand, baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) acts as a mild and abrasive cleaning agent. It helps break down the protein compounds of sweat and deodorant residue, while neutralizing bad odors. Its alkaline nature also helps to remove stains from fabrics.

Meanwhile, vinegar (acetic acid) dissolves minerals from deodorant residue, such as aluminum, which plays a major role in the formation of yellow stains. In addition, the acid in vinegar reacts with baking soda, producing carbon dioxide bubbles that help lift stains deeper into the fabric fibers.
