Brilio.net - Stoves that are used every day tend to get dirty quickly, especially in the burner area which is often exposed to food and oil residue. The burner, located under the pot or pan, becomes a place where food, water, and oil residue from the cooking process accumulate. If left alone, these residues will accumulate and turn into crust that is difficult to clean, especially if it has thickened.
However, there are some practical ways to clean the crust on the stove burner . One of them is by brushing it using a mixture of baking soda and vinegar, or soaking it in plain water to soften the crust. In addition to this method, there is another more effective way. A YouTube user named BERBAGI DUNIA shares how to clean a stove burner that has not been cleaned for more than a year in a video titled "Easy Way to Clean Gas Stove Burner Crust." This method has proven effective in dealing with crust that has built up and is difficult to clean.
As reported by BrilioFood from YouTube BERBAGI DUNIA on Tuesday (3/12), he chose to soak it in hot water. However, there are also other ingredients used, such as dish soap and baking soda.
For the cleaning process, first, place the stove burner in a wide enough bucket. After that, rinse it with enough hot water until the stove burner is submerged. Make sure the water is really hot, okay?

"The hot water must be freshly boiled, this will be better," he explained.
After that, pour enough dish soap. This soap serves to soften the crust. In addition, dirt is easily peeled off when brushed. Next, sprinkle with baking soda.

"The purpose of this baking soda is to make dirt easy to lift. So, cleaning it later is not too difficult," said YouTube BERBAGI DUNIA.
Continue stirring the liquid until the water bubbles. Then let it sit or soak the stove burner for about five hours. This will allow the mixture of ingredients to absorb into the crust and soften the crust.

After five hours, scrub the burner with a coarse wire brush. Once done, use a screwdriver to remove any crust or dirt that is difficult to reach with the brush. Finally, remove the remaining oily dirt using a pocket knife or razor.

If the dirt and crust have been completely removed, rinse the stove burner in running water. Don't forget to wipe with a cloth or tissue so that the stove burner becomes dry. That way, the stove burner will also be shinier.

The process of soaking the stove burner with hot water is apparently more effective in removing scale than soaking it with plain water. Another netizen with the account @gula_madu has proven this on TikTok.
In one of the videos shared, he admitted to soaking the stove burner with water mixed with dish soap, baking soda, and lime. However, because the water used was cold water, the soaking process was very long, even overnight. Well, to cut down on soaking time, he also suggested using hot water only.
"For those who want to try it, it is recommended to use hot water and rub it with wire," said TikTok @gula_madu.
