Brilio.net - Vadel Badjideh has filed a request for a suspension of detention after being named a suspect in a case of alleged underage sexual intercourse and abortion with victim Lolly. Vadel is currently being held at the South Jakarta Metro Police.
This is the aftermath of Nikita Mirzani's report to the South Jakarta Metro Police, last year. Rahmat Riadi, Vadel Badjideh's attorney, filed a request for a suspension of detention since February 16, 2025. In the meantime, his party is still waiting for a response to the request.
"The suspension of detention is still in process, and the letter has been sent to the Chief of Police. We are waiting. The one who guarantees is Mr. Umar, his father," said Rahmat Riadi at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Tuesday (18/2).
"Usually it takes at least one day but normally it takes around 3-5 days to respond. It depends on the Police Chief's busy schedule. Because the letter was initially sent to the general section before it went to the Police Chief's desk," Rahmat Riadi added.
Rahmat revealed the considerations underlying the application for a suspension of detention. In addition to Vadel being young and expected to complete his college education, Vadel's mother is currently sick and misses her son.
"Vadel is still a teenager, still young. This means that it is hoped that he can finish his studies. Second, the condition of Vadel's biological mother. His mother has been sick for several days and misses Vadel very much," he said.
Rahmat continued, Vadel has also been scheduled to participate in an international dance competition in March. Hopefully, Vadel can still participate in the competition representing Indonesia.
"Vadel is scheduled to take part in an international dance competition in one of the countries around March. So we are trying to ensure that Vadel can continue to defend Indonesia," said Rahmat.
Rahmat said Vadel had represented Indonesia in international dance competitions. He hopes that this can be taken into consideration so that his client's request for a suspension of detention is granted.
"There are several achievements by Vadel that have brought honor to Indonesia's name. I think the Chief of Police should take this into consideration to grant Vadel the suspension," said Rahmat Riadi.
