Brilio.net - Despite having a long career in the entertainment industry, Ucok Baba admits that being an artist is not easy. Migrating from his hometown in South Tapanuli, North Sumatra to Jakarta, Ucok said he was not immediately offered a career as an artist .
At that time, he worked at Pasar Minggu as a plastic seller. While sitting at the photocopy shop after work, Ucok met a production house employee who wanted to photocopy a script. Who would have thought, that moment brought Ucok Baba to be known on the screen.

"While I was sitting like this, someone drove by and stopped the car. I saw that he had long hair and his eyes were straight at me. As soon as he arrived, he immediately photocopied the script. So I just watched. So when I got inside, he asked (where I lived). I (answered) that I lived in that market," said Ucok Baba, as reported by brilio.net from the Tema Indonesia YouTube channel, Thursday (15/8).
Ucok Baba further revealed that the production house employee who wanted to photocopy the scenario gave him a business card. He asked the comedian to come to the Soraya Films office the next day.
"He gave me a business card saying, 'Come to the office tomorrow. We're from Soraya Film.' He said Warkop. You come there, we're producing again," said Ucok Baba, imitating the person's words.
Ucok Baba immediately fulfilled the request by coming directly to the film production office, without knowing the purpose of his visit. When he arrived there, he just found out that a film casting was being held.
That's where he then met the Warkop DKI group which was phenomenal at that time. They were, Indro, Dono, and Kasino. Ucok Baba admitted that his heart was pounding when he met the artist he could only see in the cinema.

"I was sitting right near the door. Suddenly, not long after, Mas Indro came first. I broke out in a cold sweat when I saw him. Well, Mas Indro came first, then Mas Dono came second. They all laughed at the end, shook hands. Then Mas Kasino came," said Ucok Baba.
Not long after waiting, the production house approached him. He asked Ucok Baba to go straight up to talk directly with Dono, Kasino, Indro. Apparently, he was asked to join the shooting in the Warkop film entitled 'Bagi-bagi Dong'.

"Suddenly someone from the office came to me and said, 'Sister, you're being told to go upstairs.' I was having trouble breathing, imagine what we were watching in the cinema suddenly meeting us. So at that time I saw the three of them there with the producer, who were Indians. So the story goes that I joined the shooting there for a film entitled 'Bagi-bagi Dong'," said Ucok.
Apparently, before he was now known as a comedian and soap opera actor, Ucok started his acting career at Warkop DKI. Undergoing 2 days of filming, the 53-year-old man said that he received an honorarium of Rp 50 thousand.
However, he was very grateful, considering that at that time the Warkop DKI group was so kind to him. Dono even gave him money for his needs when shopping at Pasar Minggu. Ucok said, in addition to getting an honorarium of Rp 50 thousand, he also brought shopping that could cover his living expenses for up to two months.
"I went home from Anyer with Mas Dono in his car, wow, I was almost drunk, wow, what a nice car, I was shaking there. I never talked from Anyer to Pasar Minggu. He said, 'Let's just sleep at home'. I said, 'No, bro, I'll do it later because I still have a lot of things I haven't paid for there'. I was given money. So my honorarium was only IDR 50,000, but I took it to the house, wow, I've been shopping for it for 2 months," said Ucok Baba.
