Brilio.net - The production house Miles Films announced five new feature films which will soon be produced in the 2024-2026 period. Entering its 30th year, Miles Films is ready to produce new works in various genres and collaborate with young filmmakers.
"We always want to present works that are different and can enrich the choices for the audience. In my opinion, currently filmmakers need to embrace each other and try to combine what they have," said Miles Film Producer, Mira Lesmana, quoted by brilio.net on Wednesday (29 /5).

Furthermore, Mira revealed that collaboration is now very important to show synergy. This is also being done by Miles Film by collaborating with young filmmakers and fellow independent production houses whose work has been recognized in the national and international film industry. Not only that, Mira also hopes that the Miles Film project this time can give birth to new stars who will shine in the Indonesian film industry.
The series of announcements began with Lost in Rembang, a mystery drama genre film. This film is the debut event for Aditya Murti and Raka Kertanegara as feature film producers. This film is also Ian Davin's debut work as a feature film screenwriter.

The next title is Needle in a Haystack. This film, which is also a mystery drama genre, is a collaboration between Miles Films and Karuna Pictures. This film will be Mira Lesmana's second collaboration with director Teddy Soeriaatmadja after the success of the Kontak Agen Gue series which aired in 2023. Needle in a Haystack also marks the feature film screenplay debut for Tam Notosusanto.
"When Mira Lesmana offered me the story idea for Needle in a Haystack, I was immediately attracted by the premise which was very unique, haunting and full of meaning. Karuna Pictures is very proud to be working with Miles Films to work on a mystery drama with an authentic Indonesian flavor," explained Director of Karuna Pictures, Teddy Soeriaatmadja.

Next there are Cubs and Bunga Malam which is a collaboration between Miles Film and Forka Films. Cubs or Amuk Harimau is an action thriller drama genre film. This film, directed by Riri Riza and producer Ifa Isfansyah, also won the Winner of White Light Post Production Award at the 2022 Hong Kong Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF).
Meanwhile Bunga Malam was written and directed by Kamila Andini and produced by Mira Lesmana. This time, Kamila and Mira's collaborative film is in the crime romance genre. Kamila Andini also feels happy to be working with Miles Film. According to him, this collaboration could be an opportunity to learn with Mira Lesmana and Miles Films.
"You could say that I was the first to pitch the idea of this collaboration. I have wanted to be produced by Ms. Mira for a long time. Then I 'proposed' to Ms. Mira at the end of last year, and apparently received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from her," said the Director of Forka Films, Kamila Andini. .
The series of announcements of new titles for Miles Film closed with a large project in the musical romance genre entitled Rangga & Cinta. This time, the classic story What's Up With Love? will be available in different genres so that it can be enjoyed by today's teenage audience.

Currently, the film Rangga & Cinta has started an audition process to look for new stars who are talented in acting, voice and dance to enrich the Indonesian film industry. In working on their latest musical film, Mira Lesmana and Toto Prasetyanto will also collaborate with Nicholas Saputra. This time the actor who plays Rangga will act as a producer.
The screenplay for the film Rangga & Cinta will be rewritten by Mira Lesmana and Titien Wattimena based on the film What's Up With Love? (2002) by Rudi Soedjarwo. Iconic music and songs composed by Melly Goeslaw and Anto Hoed will also accompany the audience while watching the musical film Rangga & Cinta.
