Brilio.net - The case of Atta Halilintar's bodyguard's threat to kidnap journalists has resurfaced. The incident began when Atta and his wife, Aurel Hermansyah, came to the South Jakarta Metro Police in early September 2024 to report a TikTok account that spread the issue of Atta's secret marriage to Ria Ricis.

As he was about to leave the police station, a man who was said to be Atta's bodyguard made threats to the media crew. He threatened to kidnap the journalists if his face was caught on camera.

The threat had long-term consequences. The Alliance of Video Journalists (AJV) reported Atta's bodyguard to the South Jakarta Metro Police on September 5, 2024, with the report number LP/B/2740/IX/2024/SPKT POLRES METRO JAKSEL/POLDA METRO JAYA.

The legal process of this case continues to roll even though there has been an apology from the reported party. On Thursday (19/9), several journalists underwent examination and were asked thirty questions by investigators.

Deolipa Yumara, the journalists' attorney, emphasized that his clients will continue to pursue the report until the trial. He believes that this case cannot be resolved with just an apology.

Deolipa's firm stance was reflected in his statement after the examination. He emphasized that the case will continue until the trial process is complete.

"We emphasize that this report will continue until the trial," said Deolipa after the examination, quoted by brilio.net from KapanLagi on Friday (20/9).

Deolipa Yumara also highlighted the importance of following up on this case seriously. According to him, ignoring such threats could have a wide impact on the journalism profession throughout Indonesia.

He stressed that an apology alone is not enough to resolve a case that he considers to be a pure threat. Deolipa wants this case to be a lesson for all parties.

"After apologizing, this case is over? It can't be like that because this is purely a threat," Deolipa stressed.
