Brilio.net/en - The beloved British screen and stage actor has passed away after losing his battle with cancer. Rickman was only 69 years old but will be fondly remembered for his vast array of roles.
He was trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and with his deep and languid voice was often cast as the bad guy, which is far from the truth as Kate Winslet, who starred with him in Sense and Sensibility, pointed exceptionally warm and giving man.
To most, he will be remembered as the dark and mysterious Professor Snape of the Harry Potter Series. His co-stars have offered their condolonces on social media, including author J.K.Rowling who tweeted:
There are no words to express how shocked and devastated I am to hear of Alan Rickman's death. He was a magnificent actor & a wonderful man.

Daniel Radcliffe also shared a very poignant tribute about Rickman on his Google Plus account, stating that: Alan Rickman is undoubtedly one of the greatest actors I will ever work with. He is also, one of the loyalest and most supportive people Ive ever met in the film industry. He was so encouraging of me both on set and in the years post-Potter. Im pretty sure he came and saw everything I ever did on stage both in London and New York.
