Brilio.net/en - Many people have gone pessimistically about how a real-time or automated translation device would be brought into reality, especially when involving English and Japanese. Many things should be noted like contractions, omissions also vagaries, where it is almost impossible for a translation program to solve the problem alone.
However, a Japanese tech company Logbar has made a great leap by inventing a device to translate speech called ili. It is a portable and wearable translation device, capable of translating between English, Japanese, and Chinese.
Users simply wear ili on a cord around their neck and press a button speak into the translator. The device will translate and repeat the phrases through a microphone in the selected language.
A promotional video of ili entitled Kisses in Tokyo shows Dean, a British spokesman for the devicecarrying the little translator around the jungle of Tokyo while wearing a camera on his head. Dean challenged himself to hit any random girl on the street and try to kiss them.
Surprised, feel uncomfortable, laugh; various reactions shown by the girls as the gentleman approached them asking if he can give a kiss. A girl even gave him a swat, ouch! Surely, since the promotional video is quite controversial; many social media usersthink that it is just sexual harassment. Nonetheless, this tiny translator works pretty well eventually!
