Brilio.net/en - The rainy season has arrived. Its time to retract and allowing ourselves to be a sentimental poet that we are.
Sipping hot beverage, cuddling in a warm blanket and watching the drops falling down the sky is a favorite pastime for most people during the rainy moments. And for that, we need soundtracks. Here are some of my favorites. Whats yours?
1. After the Rain by Adhitia Sofyan
If I could bottled the smell of the wet land after the rain
Id make it a perfume and send it to your house
If one in a million stars suddenly will hit satellite
Ill pick some pieces, theyll be on your way
My all time personal favorite! Listening to this as the rains fall, I always have this urge to bottle the smell of the rain and send it to my crush. But then, it would make a creepy person, isnt it?
So instead, I halt that plan and put this song into repeat during the rainy day. An indie singer-songwriter, the warm voice of Adhitia accompanied by his acoustic guitar will surely brings you into euphoric feeling of first love. Another good one from him would be Adelaide Sky with equally poetic lyrics about long distance relationship that will make you go aww!
2. Homesick by Kings of Convenience
This one has a level of melancholy of 100. Rains always leave this nostalgic feeling of a comforting place in the past. For most people, its home. The feeling of safeness and security as you would have tucking in a warm blanket in your childhood house. Here is an ode to that.
3. Hanya Isyarat by Dewi Lestari or Drew
This one maybe biased on my side. Im a big fan of any Dees writing including this Hanya Isyarat story in Rectoverso book. The song (literally translated as Only sign) is the song that goes with that chapter. Filled with poetic verses that characterized Dees writing, the lyrics are about one-sided love and appeal to sense signs that cant be feel by our physical sense; including air, time, poetry and of course rains.
4. Untuk perempuan yang sedang dalam pelukan by Payung Teduh
This song is for all the girls in your arm. Poetic lyrics, jazzy tune and romantic guitar - I would recommend Payung Teduhs full album as your rainy playlist. Another aspiring Indonesian indie band, Payung Teduh is sure has a way of playing with emotions with their poetic verses.
5. Love lost by The Temper Trap
Reminiscing the lost love during rains? This song by The Temper Trap will be perfect for you. Not exactly melancholic song, which is great! Because who wants to stay sad during a beautiful rainy moments
