Marking the 110th anniversary of Frida Kahlos birth, the Dallas Museum of Art played host to more than 1,000 lookalikes on July 7.
In an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as Kahlo a famous Latin painter, the DMA welcomed more than 5,000 guests and 1,100 Kahlo mimics. The event goal of 250 people was achieved early on, as women of all ages, colour and religion united to form one big Frida Fest.
However, the world record attempt came with a strict set of guidelines. Participants needed to be wearing a knee-length dress, a pink or red rebozo (shawl) covering their shoulders, at least 3 flowers in their hair and have a proud unibrow on display.
The life and work of Kahlo remains a source of inspiration for many, with the Museums event proving a vibrant way to remember a powerful woman and her lasting legacy. Check out some photos from the event below.
