Brilio.net/en - The former presidential candidate and Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto delivered a victory speech in front of Anies Baswedan-Sandiaga Uno campaign team at his residence in Bogor, West Java.
"Ninety percent [of total votes] of the quick count has been collected, suggesting Jakarta is going to have its new governor," he said.
Prabowo, whose Gerindra candidates have won the election according to quick counts, expressed his gratitude to public figures who consistently backed Anies and Sandi.
He mentioned several names, including Aburizal Bakrie, Hary Tanoesoedibjo, Amien Rais and Mardani Ali Sera.
Official results from the Jakarta Regional Electoral Commission (KPUD) are expected on April 29, but all quick counts point to a win by a significant margin.
"This is a victory for Jakarta citizens, a victory for democracy. And this is inseparable from the support of national figures," Prabowo said.
