Brilio.net/en - As the exit polls and quick counts closed, Jakarta gubernatorial candidate Agus Yudhoyono and running mate Sylviana Murni accepted that they lost the race to incumbents Basuki Tjahaja Purnama and Djarot Saiful and candidates Anies Baswedan and Sandiaga Uno.
Agus and Sylvi had been missing from their basecamp in Wisma Proklamasi, Central Jakarta before finally appearing together to deliver their concession speech at 9 p.m..

In his speech, Agus thanked their supporters, volunteers, and political parties that backed the pair.
I openheartedly accept my loss in this gubernatorial election, he said. Ibu Sylvi and I congratulate Basuki, Djarot, Anies, and Sandi. I have called Pak Basuki. I have tried to call Pak Anies and Pak Sandi but they were engaged in another activity. I just wanted to congratulate them on their success.
He also apologized if he and Sylvi had failed their supporters.

The crowd ended the session by yelling Agus for president! Agus for president! a possible chant in two more years, despite his failure today.
According to Kompas, the final count stands at 42.87 percent for Ahok-Djarot, 39.76 for Anies-Sandi and 17.37 for Agus-Sylvi.
