From Dubai to Shanghai, from Disney to Universal, here are a few notable theme parks to take our collective breaths away:
1. Twentieth Century Fox World (Malaysia)

One of two theme park ventures in development from the movie producing giants (the other one is in Dubai), the forthcoming park will be located in Resorts World Genting, Malaysia. Upon opening, it will feature no less than 25 rides inspired by the distributor's long list of films and shows.
2. "Hunger Games" themed park (United States)

Planned to be built near Atlanta, Georgia, this particular theme park will specialize in recreating the experience of theHunger Gamesfranchise. The Atlanta park is part of Lionsgate's effort in developing theme parks with Dubai and Macau parks already in the pipeline.
3. Disney's Star Wars Land (United States)

When Walt Disney first acquired the rights to Star Wars, it was only a matter of time before they integrated this newly owned franchise into their theme parks. Enter Star Wars Land that's being developed at both Disneyland, California and Walt Disney World in Florida. Visitors will get a chance to climb on board the Millenium Falcon and immerse themselves in the batlle against the dark side.
4. Shanghai Disneyland (China)

The newest planned entry in the monster chain of Disney theme parks, Disneyland Shanghai is planned to open Spring 2016. Once open, the theme park will be sixth Disney theme park in the world, and the third in Asia. Expect a lot of swashbuckling fun and games that only Disney can deliver.
5. Paramount London (United Kingdom)

The first of its kind, Paramount London from the production house giant will be situated just outside of London. The park that's slated to open in 2020 will no doubt feature an array of innovative and fun rides that will hook visitors the minute the walk in the doors.
6. Funtasy Island (Singapore)

In a departure from the traditional ride and thrill ambiance of theme parks, Singapore's planned Funtasy Island is set to be the "world's largest eco-theme park." Set to soft launch in early 2016, the park will allow visitors to snorkel, go walks inside a lush rainforest, and even swim with whale sharks.
7. IMG Worlds of Adventure (United Arab Emirates)

What's a list of mega developments without including Dubai? IMG Worlds of Adventure will be a mostly indoor theme park that contains four zones of fun and excitement. Currently in the latter stages of completion, the theme park will have zones that are dedicated to Cartoon Network shows and also Marvel Comics.
