Processing meat is often a challenge for some people. Not without reason, animal protein such as beef or goat has a tough texture. When cooked carelessly, it is very likely that the texture will remain tough even though the meat is cooked.
Basically, you need special tricks to process meat so that it is tender. One trick that can be done is to boil the meat for hours. However, apart from boiling, you can also marinate the meat if you want to make the texture more tender.
A woman named Fahrunnizar Fitriyani once shared a special trick for marinating meat to make it tender. Through his Instagram account @fahrunnizarf, he admitted that he used one drink ingredient, namely coffee. Not many people know that coffee contains protease enzymes which can break down proteins in meat. Therefore, the texture of the meat becomes softer when cooked.
The use of coffee not only functions to tenderize meat, you know. Basically, the delicious aroma of coffee can neutralize the fishy smell of meat. It's not surprising that beef is easier to process without worrying about the fishy smell remaining.
"At first I thought this would taste like coffee, the meat, but come on, coffee is delicious, I'm also curious about coffee-flavored beef tongseng. But it turns out it's not at all, there isn't the slightest taste of coffee or coffee aroma, in fact the meat is really soft," explained Instagram @ fahrunnizarf, reported by brilio.net on Wednesday (17/7).

Furthermore, using coffee to marinate meat is quite easy. First of all, prepare the meat you want to process and cut it according to your taste. If you want to cook tongseng or stir-fry, it's best to cut the meat into small pieces.

Next, mix the coffee and water in another bowl. Make sure you use pure coffee without sugar, OK? After that, stir the coffee until it is completely dissolved in the water.

So, immediately pour this coffee water into the container containing the meat. Then stir while squeezing so that the coffee seeps into the meat fibers. If so, let it sit for 30 minutes. Only then rinse the meat thoroughly until there is no coffee residue attached. That way, the meat is ready to be processed.
