The founder of National Mandate Party (PAN) and seasoned politician Amien Rais reportedly received money from former Health Minister Siti Fadilah Supari who allegedly committed corruption in aprocurement of medical equipments.
He is said to receive Rp 100 million for six times starting from January 15 to Nov. 2, 2007.

Amien Rais does not deny or admit that he has something to do with the ministers corruption case, yet he admitted that he received the money from Sutrisno Bachir, one of those who also allegedly received money from the minister.
Sutrisno was the chairman of PAN in 2005-2010.
When he (Sutrisno Bachir) sent money once a month to me, I consider it as something reasonable, Amien Rais said.

He also admits he and Sutrisno Bachir have been good friends since a long time and that Sutrisno also helps him during certain social and religious events.
I asked Sutrisno, why do you help my events? He said, My mother asked me to help you, said Amien Rais, stating that Sutrisno is a generous person who likes to help others.
Amien Rais promised to come to Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Monday to explain it before going for umrah on June 8.
