Viral man washing dishes in murky river behind house makes netizens misguided, here are the facts

Brilio.net - Washing dishes is mostly done in the sink, using running water from the tap. However, there are also a number of people in certain areas who still carry out kitchen equipment cleaning activities at the river. One of them is netizen on the TikTok account @arlieee1111.

The man who is familiarly called Arlie is known to live in a village in the Central Kalimantan area. Arlie lives in a wooden house right on the edge of the river. Through his personal social media, Arlie likes to share videos containing his daily activities, one of which is cleaning kitchen utensils at the river.

Recently, his upload showing the process of Arlie washing dishes and other kitchen utensils in the river behind his house went viral. When seeing content from Arlie, quite a few netizens assume that the time used to wash kitchen utensils is very cloudy.

In the comments column of the video, which has been watched 2 million times, quite a few netizens asked why Arlie chose to wash dishes at that place.

In fact, there are netizens who even say that Arlie's way of washing dishes is similar to that in Vrindavan. Vrindavan is a city in India which is known for having a different culture, namely regarding processing food ingredients or managing kitchen utensils using unhygienic methods.

"Why is the water yellow," said TikTok @Bu Ari.

"Can't you rinse the water again? It's healthy, bro," said TikTok @lady.

Arlie then answered a number of questions with a new video. Apparently, netizens who thought the river water was dirty were mistaken. He explained that from a distance, the water in the river looked dirty because underneath there was brownish soil. Even so, he claims the water is still clear, you know.

"So we can use this water to wash rice, fish and vegetables, and so on. (This time) it's a place for us to bathe too, guys," he explained.

It didn't stop there, Arlie also took a glass cup to prove the clarity of the water in the river behind his house. Sure enough, when you take it with a glass, you can see the water is very clear without any impurities at all.
