The RANS Nusantara Hebat culinary center located in BSD, Tangerang, Banten, owned by Raffi Ahmad and Kaesang Pangarep, will temporarily close starting February 28, 2025. Although it has only been operating for less than a year, this decision was announced via their official Instagram account, @ransnusantarahebat, on Tuesday (25/2).
In the announcement, they said, " Friends of Rans Nusantara Hebat, we would like to inform you that Rans Nusantara Hebat will temporarily stop operating starting February 28, 2025. "
Although it will be closed, the management ensures that customers who have vouchers can still exchange them. However, they did not provide further details regarding the voucher exchange procedure. " Exchange your voucher now ," the announcement added.
RANS Nusantara Hebat also expressed its gratitude to the community for the support that has been given. " Wait for our reopening information, okay! " the announcement concluded.
The closure of RANS Nusantara Hebat occurred before it had even been operating for a year, after opening on March 30, 2024. This upload immediately sparked various reactions from netizens, with many criticizing the price of food which was considered too expensive.
One netizen commented, " UMKM but mall prices ," showing their disappointment with the prices offered.
Several other comments also reflect disappointment, such as, " It's quiet and hot. No one does the laundry anymore. Claiming to be an UMKM, but the prices are like those in the mall ."
" Oh my, I wanted to watch it there again, min," said one netizen. There were also those who asked, " Why is it closed now even though it's almost the fasting month ?" which showed confusion over this decision.
RANS Nusantara Hebat, known as the largest culinary center in the archipelago with an area of 2.1 hectares, can accommodate between 1500 to 2000 visitors at once.
"Here our intention must be to make our MSMEs get the best place and move up a class, because we believe that if our MSMEs are given the best place, especially if it becomes a lifestyle, our nation's economy will also skyrocket," said CEO and Founder of Rans Entertainment Raffi Ahmad.
However, over time, this culinary center has experienced a lack of visitors. Initially having 122 tenants consisting of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with local flavors, now many stalls rented for MSMEs look empty. Although the previous launch event went viral thanks to its excitement and the big names of Raffi and Kaesang, the reality did not live up to expectations.
