The sweet aroma of tempting boiled corn always manages to attract the attention of its connoisseurs.

In addition to buying it from street vendors, boiled corn can actually be made at home. However, it should be noted that the boiling process cannot be done carelessly. Often, the resulting boiled corn becomes bland because its natural sweetness is lost.

To avoid this, most people usually add certain ingredients. So when boiling corn, the boiling water is given additional table salt. The addition of this salt is believed to be able to make the sweet taste of the corn not fade into the water. Not only that, salt is also considered to be able to make corn softer when boiled.

He admitted that there are a number of special techniques that must be done so that the corn can be soft, sweet, and its nutrients are not lost when boiled.

As reported by BrilioFood on Thursday (12/9), the first thing to do is peel the corn skin. But make sure you don't peel it all off. Leave the two deepest layers of skin that directly cover the corn.

"This way, you can lock in the fresh taste of the corn. Don't forget to also save the corn cobs. That way, the cooked corn will not lose its original aroma," explained TikTok @gsaroso.id.

After peeling, rinse the corn under running water to clean the outer skin. Then set aside first. Next, pour enough water into the pan.

Once done, add some rock sugar. Adding sugar will make the corn even more delicious. Then add 3 grams of salt and a little baking soda so that the corn becomes soft quickly and is healthy. Then stir all the ingredients.

After that, put in the washed corn. Make sure the corn is completely submerged. Then cover the pan and turn on high heat. Now, boil the corn until the water boils. When it boils, change to low heat and boil for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, immediately remove and drain the corn. Do not leave the corn in the pot of hot water for too long because it will affect the sweetness and texture of the corn. After removing, let the corn cool slightly, then peel the outer skin. Now, this corn is ready to eat.
