How to make red and white semar mendem, a traditional lemper-like snack

Brilio.net - Semar mendem is a traditional snack , made from soft and tasty sticky rice. Almost like lemper, only the outside of the semar is made using rolled omelette skin.

Material
- 250 gr sticky rice
- 250 ml water
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 tablespoons coconut milk
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 pandan leaf stalk
- 2 lime leaves
- 1 lemongrass stalk

Filling ingredients:
- 1/2 boiled chicken breast fillet, shredded
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- 4 cloves garlic
- 5 red onions
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp ground pepper
- 100 ml water
- 1 tbsp fiber creme

Leather Material:
- 3 tablespoons wheat flour
- A pinch of mushroom broth salt
- 1 egg
- Enough water
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- 3 drops of red dye
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tablespoon cooking oil for greasing the pan

How to make:
1. Mix all the leather ingredients. Stir well.
2. Put omelette on Teflon face, set aside
3. Mix all the sticky rice in a pan. Cook until the water is absorbed.
4. Steam for 25 minutes.
5. Saute the shallots and garlic until fragrant, add salt. Pour coriander powder and boil water.
6. Add shredded chicken, granulated sugar and fiber creme. Cook until the water is absorbed.
7. Take 1/2 of the steamed sticky rice.
8. Each serving 1 tbsp. Print the sticky rice with stir-fried chicken filling, wrap in skin, semar mendem ready to serve.
